Majestic birds of prey have sharp talons for catching their food. They also have hooked beaks to pull apart animals that are too big to be swallowed whole. Found in the emergent and upper canopy layers of the forest, their keen eyesight is an important aid in locating food. Eagles, hawks and owls have similar patterns for hunting and moving from tree to tree in short flights. Their camouflaged coloration makes them difficult to see while they are hunting.
